The Castle of Selvole is a hilltop holiday 'village' located 200 metres from the magnificent Selvole winery and cellar. It consists of five old farmhouses that have been converted into 21 self-catering apartments for singles, couples or families with children. There is a requirement of a two day minimum stay. All the apartments were once farmhouses inhabited by farmers who worked at Selvole. Today they have been completely restored, although the natural heritage and atmosphere of the old farmhouses have been carefully preserved. The apartments are divided into three groups identified by the names of local flowers: Geranio, Margherita, Ginestra. All apartments are self contained with a kitchen and are completely furnished. Bed linen and towels are provided and are changed regularly for stays longer than one week. Guests can relax by the village swimming pool which is located at the centre of the complex, or sit outside in the garden and enjoy the natural peace and tranquillity of the surrounding. Our B&B is one of the best starting points from which to explore the beauty of the area. We are only 12km by car from Siena and within close proximity to other major attractions in the Chianti region. If you want comfort and that individual touch in a home away from home then come and enjoy the beauty of Siena with us. The Castle of Selvole offers 2 free daily transfers (morning at 9.30 and late afternoon at 17.30) to Siena Station for all our guests for the arrival and departure. Please advise staff one day in advance if you wish to use this transfer service with our shuttle. Other staying guests are welcome to use the service for a fee of 3 euro per person per trip. Guests arriving or leaving at any other times are advised to take a taxi. Guests arriving by car are requested to arrive by 7 pm at the latest. Otherwise they are kindly asked to contact our staff beforehand to arrange for a key pickup. Activities at the Castle: Guided tour in the winery and testing of the wines of Selvole. (will be scheduled on demand). Dinner and Lunch The Castle of Selvole operates a restaurant in Pievasciata, where the ancient Templars had their base in the 1200s, only a couple of kilometres from its winery. Here, you can enjoy traditional Tuscan cuisine such as Ribollita (vegetable and bean soup) or the famous Chianina Florentine steak, not to mention a complete selection of wines. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
