The LEON D’ORO hotel is a real jewel of comfort and style, rich in authentic history.

It was built in 1860 on behalf of the Bishop of Padua, and it was used for the rest and the retirement of the Franciscan fathers.

In 1980 the Venetian Forzutti family - interested in the historical building, which was abandoned at the time - put their own experience of "Venetian hospitality" to good use and started restorations.

Gianni Forzutti is in fact even today the owner of the San Giorgio restaurant in Venice, in Riva degli Schiavoni : in an enviable position on San Marco basin , opposite San Giorgio island, and well-known for the Venetian cooking, rich in fish specialities.

Guests at the LEON D’ORO wishing to visit Venice may always have a table reserved at the San Giorgio restaurant, provided they previously ask for it.

The LEON D’ORO is surrounded by a wide countryside, a large garden with two hydromassage swimming pools and games for children and grown-ups.

In the finest evenings dinner may be served oudoor.

In a corner of the park there is an artificial lake where some ducks swim.

The water of this lake comes from an artesian well and its constant temperature prevents the formation of ice during the coldest days in winter.

Our restaurant offers also à la carte menus and this service can be chosen even if you have a half-board arrangement, paying separately for the difference.

Our specialities are based on the fish of the lagoon and on the Venetian cooking tradition.

You can taste excellent hand-made pasta.

The most typical dish is "fegato", i.e. liver "Venetian style" with polenta (see picture).
